All this talk of tropical fruits reminds me of my childhood growing up in neighboring Malaysia. Some of the ones I miss include rambutan (as mentioned), nangka (aka jackfruit, we can get it in cans here, but not fresh, or deep fried ... mmmm!), cempedak, & my favourite, chiku. Here's a link to some of the fruits mentioned above, for pics & descriptions.

hey guys! i never thought there were Filipinos here! wow, i was just browsing 'driving fun and road trips' forum section and found this thread. Me,my wife and 2 yr old daughter are planning to go down LA coming from SF this weekend and i was searching for tips and suggestions for long drive/ trips. Well, it'll be my first time to drive that long going to LA cause i just got here at CA from Philippines last April. The first time we went there to meet our relatives, we went by plane. But this time i'm planning to take the drive in my 92 MPV. anyways, nice to know i have kababayans here. you should ask me on what cars we have back there in the Phil.

Hey pare!

Welcome to the club. I travel by car to LA from SF almost 3-4 times a year. Have in-laws in LongBeach. So do you have connections to import Japanese parts for Mazda into the US via PI? Wink

Salamat po.

under rear mirror? Is that the one you put on your tailgate to see what is behind the van? If yes, did you get the clamp-on type or the bolt-on type? I am currently thinking of getting that mirror from the Phils. but I don't want to bore holes on the TG. Either that mirror or the electronic (sensor) type will be put on the van Idea .. and you bought your volks rim from the Phils? Did it turn out cheaper buying the rims there Huh? ?
