Well wait till you need to do this 5 times more, and see if your blood starts to boil over for all the hassles and expenses involved.

I just completed a spark plug replacement on my 04 ES this past weekend, and actually had followed another poster's illustrated description. Unfortunately, his did not mention the cooling lines that apparently only the '04 and up have. I thought one of them was another vacuum line, and got a little green surprise when I pulled it off. Luckily I only spilled about a half a pint, and very luckily I still had the intake manifold in place so that I didn't end up shooting the coolant into my engine! I ended up unbolting the throttle bum'y from the intake manifold instead of messing around with draining down the coolant system. It went well overall, and it's a satisfying feeling to have done it myself.

Kudos to Bubba for the great pics and instructions. His instructions are better than the shop manual. Pics are much better than their diagrams. Happy New Year, Jack.

Yep pretty well any of the bolts will have a torque requirement, I was sure bubba put that in. If you cannot locate it in the "sticky's" on this let me know and will post details here.

Very Happy Thanks for that...I couldn't remember if they were on there or not, and didn't have the time to check. Thanks for coming to the rescue on that one... Very Happy

Thanks guys!. I was afraid to get into this without that info. All done and working beautiful. I went in there and just replaced all coils..lol. Great job on posting those instructions for us non-mechanical nOObs..lol. Again thanks Bubba and the rest of you who really don't have to help us, but do.

Regards

William

Let me add my thanks, too! I used these great instructions to replace the rear set of coils in my 2002 (~53k miles) a couple of weeks ago. It's nice to see a group of enthusiasts for this great minivan! I'll post some other observations in the TSB-Engine Misfire thread.

Thanks again,

Mark

Cool

I did the sparkpug replacement (a different thread) recently. These pictures were VERY helpful. Thanx! My attachment is the cylinder layout and firing order, front to back. Maybe it'll help someone who missed it on the other thread.

Thanks Bubba! Good job! I was inrush yesterday and couldn't find your post. So, I did it without instructions. To make it easier for future I want to add:
1. Some job shown on pictures can be done when engine is on the floor (for example all rear hose connections). Leave them on manifold.
2. Main idea is move manifold out of back spark plugs area, just enough to make room for the tools.
3. Unscrew 6 M8 bolts which holds manifold on the engine, 3 M8 bolts on the side metal brackets and 2 M12 bolts on EGR valve. It is enough to move manifold out of area.

I guess if you can do some work on your car do it. Fist of all you will see a real condition of the car. On my next spark plugs change I will take an EGR Valve out to clean. It will save me ~400$ if dealer will do it.

I also say thanks!
I do have a question though.
There is no mention of an intake manifold gasket.
It looks like there is one in one photo.
How come that was not replaced?
