this weekend i just purchased a 2006 MPV LX in a blue. So far is quite comfortable compared to my track prep Spec V(VQ35de swap) . Yesterday while we took a small trip my wife fell asleep..hehehe! In my Spec she would be always awke.
Only things i dont like is:
The gas tank cap its hard to get off and on..it tends to scrape off the plastic thread of the gas cap which scares me because it might go the gas tank. Has anybody had this problem? What can i to fix it! It seems the gas cap doesnt match.
and the shift lever blocks the control volum which is ok because i have the audio controls on the steering wheel!
One question i might be getting a rear roof spoiler how do you put that on?

congrats on the purchase. I know you were thinking about it. As minivans go, a stock MPV is probably the closest to the handling you're used to. The Oddy will have more power but is bigger, etc.

Have the dealer take a look or compare against another MPV. The cap is light and the finger grips are kinda low so this may work against you.

I got over this quickly. The PIA is that the A/C button is blocked for me so I have to bend down a little bit to see if the A/C is on.

Sorry, can't help you there. I know that if you get the OEM from places like mazdastuff.com the instructions are included. Also there are several posts on installing the OEM spoiler. Now if you're talking about aftermarket you may want to ping one of the tuners(e.g. ARJOSHUA, Redline1, etc.) Then: '79 Plymouth Horizon, '88 VW Fox Wagon, '92 VW Jetta GL (DW), '96 VW Golf GL (DW), '97 Jetta GLX - Green
Now: '03 MPV ES - Blue Mica (DW), '10 Honda Civic Si - Polished Metal Metallic |

It pretty good; i love it. So comfortable the handling is pretty good. Gearing for me is weird but hey its a minivan. And also one thing people dont try to challenge me since im driving a MPV. In the Spec V they would always try to race me and that would annoy me!
One question i want to ask (dont flame plz) is it ok to use Mobil 1 5-30 synthetic oil? I now the mpv is suppose to use 5-20 but i use 5-30 syn oil in my spec v |

5w-30 is fine, there is a TSB that states it is acceptable. I use that in the summer in our '02, then I switch to 20 in the winter.

Luckily the flames here are infrequent.

which is good! Over in the Spec V boards they are harsh! Luckily this forum isnt like that! So do u notice a difference between 5-20 vs 5-30 syn? |

No - I can't say I do notice a difference. But I switched the van over to syn oil several years ago. Rich. Dark. Deeply satisfying.
