Hey guys, newbie here.

Doing the 60,000 mile service on our '00 and the owners manual recommends coolant change on vehicles with the rear climate control be done by Mazda. Why? I assume this is because they figure most people can't figure out which end of a combination wrench is the open end. Coolant change is relatively straight forward, what, if anything, needs to be done to complete the coolant change with the rear climate control? Yes, I've done a search, but couldn't find the answer. If this has been covered previously can someone link me to that thread? Thanks.

John

I think the warning comes from the fact that it is possible to get air trapped in the rear pipes if you don't do the coolant change correctly, disabling the rear heat. A couple of threads you may have seen:

And one with a warning about the heat not working after a change:

I would have sworn someone posted a more detailed description of the "burp" procedure, but I can't find it... I don't know
