My wife's van had what I really thought was an oil pan leak. However, after removing all of the shrouds underneath and cleaning everything with brake cleaner, I swear it seems like it's coming from behind the AC compressor...?

There is no easy access to really see what's going on. I don't believe it's coming from what is I assume the oil pressure sensor (which is near the ac compressor). It's also not coming from the valve cover

Symptoms are a very slow leak only when running, which is dripping onto the exhaust manifold causing a burnt oil smell

I had an issue with the valve cover gasket leaking. Not uncommon on this vehicle with age (she's at 124k). Appears the gasket was holding but RTV, applied to corners where castings meet, had failed. Consequently there were some specific spots that were leaking including some leaking onto exhaust manifold for "burnt oil" smell after driving. The pan had oil buildup though not a lot was making it onto the driveway.

Hard to see but look along the front of the engine just below the valve cover. In my case the oil leak/buildup were evident. Not a hard job to replace but you'll need to remove intake manifold. Use full gasket set that includes grommets and spark plug seals. And be sure to reapply rtv where the castings come together. I replaced ignition coils while the intake was off. Car is now running great. GL

P.S. I used Fel-Pro gasket set, red rtv, and napa branded (gold?) ignition coils
