Is it a lemon?
Don't know, but I suspect you'll find out.
I suppose any car can be a lemon, but generally, the MPV is not known as a "lemon."

Is there anything you should know?
Best answer for that is...don't be afraid to search this site for answers to your questions. There is a lot of information here in the archives.
Unfortunately, since the car has been out of production for 12 years, there are fewer and fewer enthusiasts here to help with your problems.

Good luck with your purchase.

Differences in "reliability" on cars are so minimal they are not even worth talking about (although many "agencies" made a business out of it :cough: JD Power/Consumer Reports :cough:).

Lifespan of your car and reliability is closely related to how the owner treats their car (how they drive it/treat it and how they maintain it).

If you did your research, obtained service records and did an inspection on the vehicle you should be ok.

Then there is the age, any 12/13 year old car will have some issues (assume that).

NOTHING is perfect.

My 2000 MPV has been very reliable and has given us 150k plus and 15+ years of worry free miles. I don't recall it ever leaving us stranded but it had few little things go wrong.

My MPV was serially reliable. I had 189K miles on it when it was totaled out by my insurance company after an accident. Don't neglect the maintenance and you'll get many years of enjoyment out of it.

Best of luck to you.
