The first car I ever drove was a Renault stick. I was ten. I eventually really learned and got my license in the family 55 Chevy three on the tree six cylinder. classic.

Some sort of LADA, no power steering, no power brakes..strong and patient machine..

First drive ever: Friend's father's '70 Impala on a country road for maybe a mile, when I was 15.

Driver's Ed: Newish AMC Hornet 3-speed stick on the floor, at 16.

Road Test: Dad's '67 Chrysler Newport 383, at 16.

Conversion to Japanese: A friend's '70 Datsun 1000 w/ 4-speed, at 17. What a fun little car!

first drive: early '70's retired CN truck converted to pickup. Then properly learned and road drove a '79 F150 supercab (great to learn parallel parking with), most fun car '97 Mitsubishi eclipse (learned autobahn driving with that one)
