Had our first problem with our 5. It is an 07 and not even a year old. The blower fan just stop working. Brought it to the dealership and they apperntly knock on the blower/fan assembly and it started working. They did replaced it the next day. All good so far.

Any one else had this problem?

Hi, I'm a newbie here but have had this problem already. I have the 06 Sport. The blower motor would go out intermittently around Oct 08 time and then just died in Nov 08.
My Mazda dealer told me that a bad batch of these things had come out, but I think it was a design flaw.
They replaced it and actually my whole dash vibrates now when the speed is at highest. I'm getting more airflow though, so I'm not exactly mad about it.
I had taken it back to them about the vibration and they looked at it, but everything was in place. Since my 06 only has front vents, I'm OK with the trade off.

OMG! That is why I joined MPV - to see if anyone else had this problem. My fan is a total piece of crap. Even on level 4, there is hardly any air. I did remove the cabin air filter this morning, and it was completely clogged. I cleaned it out and ordered a new one. It did help a bit, but overall the output is still dismal. Crying or Very sad

The blower resistor may need replacement. It might have burned out.
