The auto electricians added some holes in a door panel for my tweeters and they sound real great!! Wink Makes the average sound come from the front - you can't hear the sound coming from the door spkrs but the whole sound appears to come from the front... Confused Laughing Mr. Green

Below is a piccie...

Looks like they can add a tweeter wherever and make it look neat and tidy.

<edit> Why didn't that picture appear? It was 640 x 480 and 45.8kB I try Rt Click / "Show Picture" and it still doesn't appear.
Anyway, its in "Aftermarket Parts/Accessories" Dead Pedal (it was a bit O/T ahem!)</edit>

Cheers

Well, that picture on the Dead Pedal page is this http://forum.mpvclub.com/download.php?id=994 while the one you didn't have luck with is http://forum.mpvclub.com/download.php?id=1038 which I believe doesn't exist just yet, hence the red X.

id=994 is the correct photo I believe:

Thanks Brian - I posted it twice, and then used the Update button and it all went through without alarms everytime - I guess I struck a DBase server at the wrong 2am time hehe! As everything appeared fine on my end but the pic never appeared - probs being on such a different timeline I guess.
Thanks. I've deleted the attachment since you have posted it for me hehe! Wink

Incidentally Kiwi, I notice your avatar is showing up as a red X as well lately. It's pointing to http://forum.mpvclub.com/images/avatars/upload/d23066da3e87a39f04eb5.gif , which appears to not exist. I don't know

Thanks Brian - that's just happened this weekend - was ok this morning for me - I haven't changed it at all and the graphic is on my old PC (or at work?) and that's a floppy disk away haha - still not networked, can't do everything at once although eldest son wants it connected for www browsing - after I put on some protection...

Still a puzzle... Question
I will PM to Alex to see whats going on...

The best free tool to prevent the "naughty stuff" is iProtectYou.

The latest version is for money, but they still offer the 3.06 version for free on this address http://www.softforyou.com/ip-download-free.php you fill the form and they send you link where to download it. But seems like the response of the email is not immediate. I also found the 3.06 version here http://www.webattack.com/get/iprotectyou.shtml . Alternatively you can still download version 3.01 here http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/3000-2132-10137322.html and supposedly version 3.05 here http://www.softnews.ro/public/cat/14/5/14-5-47.shtml .

The program works quite well, I tested it. ONE THING YOU BE CAREFUL ABOUT, DO NOT FORGET THE PASSWORD YOU CHOOSE AS AN ADMIN, OR YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO DISABLE OR UNINSTALL IT (I think you would have to reinstall OS to get rid of it if you forget the password).

Just returning to this issue as I found a nice picture on Japanese website of the woofer connection from the rear speaker. I circled it.

I realize that this topic hasn't been touched upon for oh say 9 years Laughing But did this guy ever finish the install of his subwoofer. I just picked up a factory sub from a salvage yard for $50. My MPV has the front tweeters but doesn't have the rear tweeters. It is wired for the rear tweeters but not the sub. Just wondering since it's been so long that maybe someone has figured this thing out. would love to find the male connector and pins and wire this thing myself. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. type

By plug and play, do you mean that once you connected your tweeters to the pre-existing wiring, the tweeters worked right away? Is there some sort of factory crossover in the LX? I installed an aftermarket head unit and am wondering if the tweeters would work without installing separate cross overs.

Thanks.

I will also confirm that the dash tweeter locations on the '03 LX are prewired. I just installed the ones that Catbui gave me last year for my '01 LX. The '01 LX is definitely NOT prewired. The tweeter caps are hard to pry out - I used two small screwdrivers, one to pry and hold, one to pop the rest of the way out. The wire harness/connector is plugged into the bottom of the caps. Just play and play!

It's good to hear about the subwoofer plug too. Hopefully one of those will find it's way into my van too .... ahem, Java?!

I read on the Mazda 3 forums (http://www.mazda3forums.com/showthread.php?t=261911) that the Mazda 3's factory tweeters have a built in passive high pass filter.
Is that the same for the MPV? If so, simply installing my aftermarket tweeters may not work, as the full frequency range would play through the tweeters (possibly damaging the tweeter, and probably sounding bad.)
