So I'm not the only one.

Coworker leased a Mazda 3 that he loved. When the lease came due, all he could get was one of the smiley face 3s. He refused and kept his wife's older 3, while he got her a city Golf.

Looks like I'll be waiting for the Ford C-MAX instead of this cosmetic cluster-eff.... Mazda must really want to pull the plug on the 5... they will scuttle the 5 with this brilliant move

Sure hope this is a joke....

The C-Max *is* a nice ride. Good space in the interior and very good handling. I drove one a couple years ago and was wondering when Ford wised up and got it to the States. No 3 row seating tho.

The 2011 offerings from Ford may give Mazda (and all the other Asian manufacturers) a run for their money.

Then: '79 Plymouth Horizon, '88 VW Fox Wagon, '92 VW Jetta GL (DW), '96 VW Golf GL (DW), '97 Jetta GLX - Green, '03 MPV ES - Blue Mica (DW); '15 Hyundai Elantra GT - Titanium Gray Metallic (DW)
Now: '18 Hyundai Tucson - Silver (DW), '10 Honda Civic Si - Polished Metal Metallic blake

I'm torn. The damn grin has been growing on me for some time and IMO this refresh looks much more like the 3 than the previous gen.

I like the styling cues on the side taken from the Nagare but it's the rear end that kills it for me.

It's taken some time to warm up to the smile face, but I'm getting there.

As for the character lines / swirls, I like them now because it's something different. Not sure if I'd grow tired of it.

How long do you give it until the swirl shows up on other cars?
