Hi Frederick - and welcome to the club...

I searched for ages to find the correct pictures from the manual but none had been posted except for instructions many times. At 80K miles or 135,000 kms or so, the CEL (check Engine Light) comes on to remind owners to replace the camshaft timing belt. The distance is reset by altering a screw from one position to the next on the back of the instrument cluster - pc-board. The other common reason the light could come on is for the Oxygen Sensor warning. This would normally be off when yopu start the engine and come on at some stage while driving especially ayfter an uphill and then coasting.

Check these pics out below,

Subject search words - CEL Reset, warning light, CEL cancel, Instrument Cluster panel, photo, pic, picture, manual.

Note that if your screw was already in the NC (Normally Closed) hole, then it needs to be swapped back to the NO (Normally Open) position...

If the light comes and goes, then the O2 Sensor needs replacing and then it pays to remove the battery + cable for 30secs and while off, press the brake pedal for 20secs or so to consume all residual voltage left in the system through the brake lights. The computer then resets the CEL except for the mileage reset.
