My dad was staying with us over Christmas and he saw one of the ads for the Silverstars and went out and bought some. (around $40/pair). I got them installed and pulled his MPV and my MPV side-by-side and turned the headlights on the garage door. The Silverstars were very white compared to the OEM which were more yellow, and the Silverstars seemed to have a little better coverage.
I have read that the Silverstars don't seem to last as long as the OEM bulbs which would get expensive replacing every 12 months or so (especially since I would have to do four since I would want the fog lights to match).
For those of you that have put in the Silverstars, are they worth the expense? |

I have not had them in my wife's MPV, but I had a set burn out in my Miata in about6 months, and 2 sets burn out in my VW Jetta in 2 years. I would say due to longevity and price not worth it.
Actual light wise, any time you put a coating on a bulb you reduce the output. With the silverstars they look blue and white, but those are also the colors that will not help when it is wet and rainy out.

I've had the same pair of Silverstars in my MPV for a few years now (maybe 4 years?).
The silverstars in my Mercury are just about 2 years old = no issue there either. Rich. Dark. Deeply satisfying.

In my opinion? Not even close. I do think they are better than the OEM bulbs. Rich. Dark. Deeply satisfying.

I've had a set in the MPV for over two years now (including fogs). I had one fog burn up in a few months, but that was probably from me touching or something. At the same time I put a set of 9005/9006's in my truck. Once that one fog gave me an issue. They put out a better light that stock type bulbs. But they are not like HID's which can blind you at times...
