Our '04 is doing okay with the factory 17's as far as rust/corrosion. The previous '02 didn't have problems before trade-in iirc.

geez...5 day weekends are too long, they make you forget things Wink

I took the MPV in to get the rims resurfaced. Everything covered by Mazda Cool I'll have the MPV back in about 2 days. Mazda 3 as a courtesy car...where is the shifter, oops! Laughing

Well, I got my MPV back today, rims are resurfaced and shiney Wink I'll take a photo later as they look brand new!

Well, its been about a week or 2 and they are not 100% clean but here is a photo of the resurfacing job Mazda did for me under warranty;

Good to see they came to the party and fixed them under warranty. Did they explain exactly what was wrong with them?

Was it oxidation, rust, corrosion ??

I can understand scuffing etc as wear and tear but breakdown of the product itself does not sound right.

It was just the paint coating bubbling up from the inside. Trapped air, heat from the brakes, bad factory paint job, not sure what happened. Mazda fixed it which is the main thing Smile If it happens again I'll just use them in the winter and have an excuse for aftermarket rims Wink
