That tak-tak noise is typical of the hydraulic tappets. What oil are you using. You need to use 5W-30 in your conditions. All Mazda engines seem to love 30wt oils - we have had three others at home a ...

Mine has done it twice now - they pulled the engine and trans together the first time - a good chance for that to have a birthday as well, and they replaced all the studs - common for the Nissan V6's ...

Its not an original fit but the Mazda DOHC from past is a lot wider but does fit in there of the battery is relocated I think. The 95-98 engine has the inlet manifold coming to the front of the engine ...

If it is a regular sound and is still there with slightly higher revs it is likely to be the lifters. Try 10W-30 oil - it is approved and an option.

Is there a relay that must be pulled in to provide ignition juice? Is the ignition switch faulty?

Gotta go out of the square sometimes...
